Mission kids child advocacy center
When Maripeg Bruder found herself with more free time as her children got older, she discovered an opportunity to channel her energy into meaningful work. Around the same time, a friend shared a newspaper article about a new nonprofit organization, the Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center. At that point, Mission Kids was still in its early stages, searching for a physical location. Captivated by their mission to prevent child abuse and raise awareness, Maripeg’s friend reached out to the organization’s director. This connection led to their first fundraiser over 12 years ago—a pivotal moment that set the stage for Maripeg’s commitment to the cause.
What began as curiosity rapidly grew into passion. Mission Kids became a central focus for Maripeg, and in 2012, she stepped into the role of chairperson for their board of trustees. Her leadership and dedication have been instrumental in advancing the organization’s efforts.
Before her time with Mission Kids, Maripeg cultivated an impressive career. She served as vice president of Carey Limousine in Beverly Hills, California, from 1982 to 1985, followed by a role as a sales representative at Advanced Medical until 1988. Her professional foundation was built on an associate degree in marketing and merchandising, which she earned from Marymount University in 1976.
Beyond her career, Maripeg has always found ways to give back to her community. She has supported her local Catholic Church through fundraising and contributed her efforts to the Magee Rehabilitation Center. Her commitment to helping others has been a consistent thread throughout her life.
Maripeg attributes her success to her enthusiasm and tireless work ethic. Under her guidance, Mission Kids has flourished, earning national recognition for its impact. Notable moments include celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2019, a testament to their enduring influence. Every April, the organization hosts fundraising initiatives in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, symbolizing their unwavering dedication to the mission.
Over the years, Maripeg has witnessed Mission Kids transform countless lives. Their reach extends far beyond their home base in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, making a difference nationwide. The organization’s reputation as an industry leader is a source of pride for Maripeg and her team.
Maripeg remains passionately committed to the future of Mission Kids. A significant project currently in development is an educational program designed to empower children between the ages of 8 and 13. She envisions this initiative as a way to deepen the organization’s impact while continuing to advocate for the safety and well-being of children.
Maripeg Bruder’s story is one of purpose, perseverance, and profound impact. Under her leadership, Mission Kids has grown into a beacon of hope, and she shows no signs of slowing down. Her dedication to creating a safer world for children ensures her legacy will resonate for years to come.
